The program was established in 2012 following the willingness of The Technion and MIT to establish a joint Post-Doctoral fellowship program.
The Technion is looking to place some of its brightest PhD graduates in post-doctoral positions at various Engineering, Physics and Chemistry departments in MIT, where they will expand their education, be exposed to relevant research communities in their respective fields and be groomed as a potential faculty members in leading universities.
The program is designed for promising PhD students whom both the Technion and MIT recognize as excellent and, therefore, suitable for recruitment for post-doctoral research at MIT, where they will collaborate with MIT faculty and students.
Upon completing their post-doctorate training, the Technion will strive to recruit these scientists as faculty members at the Technion in the relevant faculties.
At present, this program grants a one-year stipend for up to 6 students each year.
